This seven minute video, “Kabul Journey,” was taken in the summer of 2005 by Robert Maier one day when he grabbed a camera and was taken on a whirlwind tour of Kabul that included one of Kabul’s poorest neighborhoods where children can’t go to school because they are needed for chores like carrying water up steep hills to their homes. He was graciously welcomed there to an Afghan couple’s engagement feast, and dozens of residents were happy to be videotaped and send a snapshot of their lives to the outside world. In the past fifteen months , this video has been viewed on YouTube nearly 14,000 times.
